Anti-Racism Community of Practice
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Staff & Board
This group began as an intensive cohort in spring 2021. We participated in a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) certification course through the University of South Florida. After that course ended, we shifted to an affinity group so that we could include more Coalition Members in our ongoing conversations about how to make our home repair programs more anti-racist. Our most recent meetings were about DEI with regards to homeowners and volunteers.
This month, our conversation will focus around efforts to make our staff (permanent and seasonal) and board more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. Executive Director Becca Davis will begin the roundtable conversation with some prompts, and everyone is encouraged to bring questions and ideas and resources to share. We'll also be deciding how frequently this group will meet in the future, and what other topics we'd like to explore.
