Professional Bio

Lydia Atchley brings extensive experience in disaster recovery, housing stability, and community collaboration to her role on the Coalition for Home Repair Board of Directors. She serves as the East Tennessee Case Management Coordinator with Appalachia Service Project, where she works closely with households impacted by Hurricane Helene, supporting applicants through housing repair and replacement programs and coordinating follow-up with local, state, and nonprofit partners. Her work focuses on helping families navigate complex recovery processes while ensuring resources are used effectively and equitably.
Lydia also serves as Board Chair of the Unicoi County Long-Term Recovery Group, where she provides leadership in long-term recovery planning, interagency coordination, and community-driven solutions following disaster. In addition to her professional work, she is an active volunteer with Holston Habitat for Humanity, contributing to home repair and rebuilding efforts across the region. She is also helping to establish the Northeast Tennessee VOAD Chapter, strengthening regional collaboration among organizations engaged in disaster response and long-term recovery.
