Housing Preservation Advocacy Learning Series - April

Thursday, April 10, 2025
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM (EDT)
Category: Advocacy Event

Join us for the second session of the Housing Preservation Advocacy Learning Series, spotlighting the great work of Community Action Agency of Greater Kansas City (CAAGKC). This session will highlight the agency's home repair programs, including their Healthy Homes and Weatherization programs, as well as their advocacy efforts aimed at improving housing conditions in the community. Kayla Acklin (Healthy Homes Program Manager) and Julia Powell (Marketing/Outreach Specialist) of CAAGKC will share insights on how these programs work to create safer, healthier living environments, enhance energy efficiency, and support vulnerable populations. We’ll also hear about their advocacy initiatives and how they are working to increase access to quality housing for underserved communities.

The Housing Preservation Advocacy Learning Series features presenters and spotlights organizations who delve into specific topics related to home repair advocacy. This is then followed by a Q&A session where we can ask questions, share experiences, and learn together.

Call for Proposals: If your organization is working on innovative approaches to home repair, policy advocacy, or related initiatives, we’d love to hear from you! This is an opportunity to share valuable insights and strategies with others in the field. Please fill out this form or contact Emma Carrasco at emma@coalitionforhomerepair.org
