Informational Webinar: Train-the-Trainer Homeowner Maintenance Workshop

Learn how your organization can teach homeowners about ongoing maintenance

Thursday, July 20, 2023
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM (EDT)
Category: Webinar

For decades, federally funded homeowner rehabilitation programs focused on compliance and expenditure rates with little regard to educating homeowners on the operations and maintenance of their home. This culture of compliance resulted in homeowner dependence on local government entities for ongoing assistance. In response, the LISC San Antonio Office collaborated with the City of San Antonio to adopt a new way of doing business by creating a Homeowner Maintenance Workshop for existing homeowners receiving owner-occupied rehabilitation grants. The 4-hour workshop informs homeowners on pertinent financial topics, fire safety, disaster preparedness, and home maintenance. The LISC San Antonio staff served in the train-the-trainer role in developing this class. Lori Hall, Program Officer at LISC San Antonio, will deliver this 1-hour webinar outlining the training, coordination, and content requirements for delivering the 4 hour Home Maintenance Workshop.

This event is free for members.
