Job Title Home Repair Project Supervisor

Pay Rate or Range $45-$50k annually (commensurate with experience)

Job Description 

Basic Function:

The Home Repair Project Supervisor will play an integral role in our Critical Home Repair Programming, helping us to serve low-income homeowners across Montgomery and Delaware’s Counties and will repair to the Program Manager. The supervisor will work with the Repair Client Coordinator and Program Manager to ensure repair projects best serve the needs of clients, meet grant funding restrictions, and are completed on time and within budget. This position will conduct home visits, create work scopes, interface with sub-contractors, oversee skilled and unskilled volunteers on repair projects, acquire materials, handle necessary inspections, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed home inspections for potential program clients

• Create repair work scopes that best meet homeowner needs and funding availability

• Acquire and review subcontractor proposals and contracts

• Oversee subcontractor work on all repair projects ensuring expectations have been met

• Assist in recruitment of skilled volunteers to help on repair projects completed by Habitat staff and volunteers

• Engage and ensure safety of volunteers on repair projects

• Project planning and preparation for scopes of work to be completed by Habitat staff and volunteers

• Maintain repair program tools and inventory

• Conduct inspections and quality assurance checks as needed

• Perform necessary warranty work related to repairs completed by Habitat for Humanity

• Assist in expanding the vendor network of subcontractors, vendors, etc.

• Attend weekly department and project meetings Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in residential home repair

• Knowledge of standard building codes and local government jurisdiction policies and procedures for inspections

• Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail

• Ability to motivate and train volunteers and homeowners of diverse races, faiths, genders and skill levels

• Ability to work effectively with paid staff and volunteers

• Ability to oversee multiple concurrent construction sites/projects

• Excellent verbal communications skills

• Ability to work a Monday through Friday schedule with some Saturdays and evenings as needed

• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Minimum of High School Education

• Ability to read architectural plans, and draft basic project plans as needed for permitting

• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, and lift 50lbs

• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license • Ability to operate vehicle(s) insured by Habitat’s vehicle insurance policy

• Be willing to complete or have completed OSHA safety training as needed.
