Please join us on Tuesday, November 7th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. EST for our Inaugural Advocacy Summit. The Coalition for Home Repair is partnering with the National Center for Healthy Housing, Together for Hope, National Low-Income Housing Coalition, Enterprise Community Partners - Detroit, Habitat for Humanity - International, Rural LISC, Green and Healthy Homes Initiative, and Appalachia Service Project as they each share their unique approaches to advocacy at the regional and national levels. We encourage participation from all attendees as we embark on developing a multi-sector advocacy campaign that:

  • Uplifts the need for improvements in policy and increased funding as it relates to home repairs
  • Supports your organizational mission and broadly engages your communities of focus

This event will have opportunities to collaborate, build new partnerships, and further your advocacy efforts.

This event will be held in a hybrid format. There is no cost to attend this event.

Why is home repair important for preserving affordable housing?

Many people consider affordable housing in the form of vouchers, rental assistance, tax credits, or newly constructed homes with low-interest loans. Yet, we seek to demonstrate through evidence-based practices that home repair/rehabilitation are integral solutions to the housing crises for low and moderate-income households. Home repair and modification programs can:

  • proactively reduce homelessness
  • protect generational assets
  • stabilize neighborhoods and communities at large
  • prevent illness and injury

We must invest sufficient resources into keeping affordable homes in conditions that are livable, safe, and healthy.
