Advocacy 101

In this 2018 ReFrame Conference break-out session, Walter Crouch (CEO/President of Appalachia Service Project) explains the four types of advocacy and shares about what nonprofits are allowed to do with regards to advocacy. A few housing organizations shared about the advocacy work that their organization does: Fahe (Vonda Poynter, Senior Vice President of Membership), Homeless & Housing Coalition of Kentucky (Adrienne Bush, Executive Director), and Housing Assistance Council (Dr. Stephen Sugg, Government Relations Manager). At the end, attendees met in small groups to plan for how each home repair nonprofit can better advocate for the needs of those living in substandard homes.
