Now Available: Home Repair Fact Sheets by State

Posted By: Emma Carrasco Advocacy Resources, News,

Preserving affordable housing starts with preserving the homes people already live in. And now, there’s a new resource to help you tell that story!

The Coalition for Home Repair has created fact sheets for all 50 states and select localities, now available in our Advocacy Resource Library. Whether you’re applying for funding, meeting with a policymaker, or mobilizing your community, these one-pagers offer the clear, compelling data you need to strengthen your case.

Each fact sheet includes:

  • Coalition member impact

  • *Repair needs and cost estimates (from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia)

  • Homeownership trends

  • Housing affordability and cost burden data

  • Demographic and vulnerability indicators

  • Age and condition of the housing stock

*A note on the home repair data: the estimates come from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s comprehensive analysis (the most detailed data currently available on home repair needs and costs). Where local data was not available, national averages from this report were included to provide meaningful context on the scale of home repair needs.

All stats and insights come from a variety of sources, including impact report data submitted by Coalition members (learn more about that data collection program here), the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, National Center for Health StatisticsU.S. Census Bureau, HUD CHAS data, and UMass Boston Elder Index.

When you advocate for home repair, you’re advocating for safety, stability, and equity. These fact sheets are here to back you up. We encourage you to adapt these fact sheets for your service area (add your stories, local data, or organizational impact to make them even more powerful!)
